Rinku Singh and Ruturaj Gaikwad guided India to 185/5 in 20 overs. Ireland while chasing made 152/8 in 20 overs and India won the match by 33 runs.
India won the 1st T20 by 2 runs through D/L method and with this win they won the 3 match series and the last will be played on 23rd August. Bumrah and company are leading by 2-0.
Ireland won the toss and they elected to bowl first. India lost their 1st wicket at the score of 29, when Craig Young dismissed Yashasvi Jaiswal. Jaiswal is yet to score any run against Young. In the 1st also he gets dismissed in the 1st ball. Jaiswal made 18 runs. (29-1). Tilak Varma again failed to show his class and got out cheaply. McCarthy gets his wicket. Varma scored 1 run. (34-2).
For the 3rd wicket Samson and Gaikwad made 71 more runs together. Samson looked solid this time but he couldn’t convert it into a half century and made 40 runs in 26 balls. Benjamin White gets the credit for the dismissal. (105-3). Then the highest scorer for the team Ruturaj Gaikwad got out. Before going to pavilion he scored 58 runs in 43 balls which includes 6 fours and a six. Barry McCarthy got his wicket. (129-4).
After the full domination shown by Rinku Singh and Shivam Dube. Rinku Singh who showed his brilliant batting during the IPL continues his great form and scored 38 runs in just 21 balls. He hits 2 fours and 3 sixes. He along with Dube put 55 runs for the 5th wicket. Mark Adair broke this partnership in the last over by dismissing Rinku SIngh. (184-5).
Shivam Dube showed some good hands at the end. He made 22 runs and hit 2 sixes. He along with Washington Sundar remain not out at the end. Sundar played only 1 ball and couldn’t score any runs. India therefore in 20 overs made 185 runs with the loss of 5 wickets.
Barry McCarthy took 2 wickets while Mark Adair, Benjamin White and Craig Young got 1 wicket each.
Ireland didn’t get a good start and in the 3rd over they lost their first wicket. Paul Stirling the Irish Captain didn’t score any runs and Prasidh Krishna got his 1st wicket of the day. (19-1). In that same over, Prasidh Krishna again strikes in the last ball and takes the wicket of Lorcan Tucker. Tucker also didn’t score any runs and got out on a duck. (19-2).
In the last over of the powerplay Ravi Bishnoi strikes by taking the wicket of Harry Tector. Bishnoi’s googly again did the work. (28-3). Then the Irish batsman batted a little slow so that they could survive and hit later on. But in the 10th over, Bishnloi again strikes and breaks the 35 runs partnership. Curtis Campher was the man who got out. (63-4).
As the net run rate increased, Irish batsmen got in a hurry and this did the work for Indians as they got the wicket of Dockrell. He got out by Bishnoi/Samson. Dockrell made 13 runs. (115-5). The man who was standing and making runs for his team Andrew Balbirnie got out next. He played a superb knock of 72 runs in 51 balls and hit 5 fours and 4 sixes. Arshdeep Singh sent him to the pavilion. It was also Arshdeep’s 50th T20 international wicket. (123-6).
Then in the next over, Bumrah gets the wicket of McCarthy who played brilliantly in the 1st T20. This time Mccarthy only managed to score 2 runs. (126-7). In the end Mark Adair showed some little destruction with his bath but it was too late. Bumrah got him in the last over. Adair made 23 runs in which he hit 3 sixes. (148-8).
Craig Young (1 run) and Joshua Little (0 run) remained not out at the end. Ireland posted 152 runs with the loss of 8 wickets. As a result they lost the match by 33 runs.
Jasprit Bumrah, Prasidh Krishna and Ravi Bishnoi get 2 wickets each while Arshdeep Singh gets 1 wicket.
