RCB in the finals defeated MI in an epic eliminator

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated the defending champion Mumbai Indians (MI) by 5 runs to register their first final in the WPL. 

In a close encounter, Bangalore got the upper hand in the eliminator and now they will meet Delhi Capitals (DC) in the final. 

Earlier in their last meeting there also Bangalore got an easy victory over Mumbai by 7 wickets to make their place into the eliminator.  

In this eliminator, Royals skipper Smriti Mandhana won the toss and went for batting. 

Ellyse Perry (66 runs) like in the last match, took the responsibility on her shoulder again and got her team to a respectable total. She is currently the orange cap holder with 312 runs in her credit. She played 50 balls and hit 8 fours and a six. 

The team was struggling as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals but Perry kept his patience and after a slow start took the destruction in the death overs. Due to brilliant batting, the team managed 135 runs in 20 overs by losing 6 wickets. 

Hayley Matthews, Nat Sciver-Brunt and Saika Ishaque got 2 wickets each for Mumbai. 

In the chase, Mumbai also started to run per ball but they were unable to maintain big partnerships. Yastika Bhatia (19 runs) played a little slow as she took 27 balls to get there. Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur (33 runs) tried to get the score but she got her patience out and returned to the pavilion in the 18th over. 

Amelia Kerr (27 runs not out) tried her very best till the end, but the end result didn’t go in their favour. They at last score 130 runs in 20 overs by losing 6 wickets.

Shreyanka Patil bowled brilliantly as she got 2 wickets in her 4 overs by giving away only 16 runs. Especially her 19th over in which she only gave 4 runs and got the wicket of S Sanjana. Ellyse Perry, Sophie Mollineux, Asha Sobhana and Georgia Wareham got 1 wicket each.
