PBKS’ playoff dreams dashed by RCB

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) continued theri victory form and won their 4th match in a row. They defeated Punjab Kings (PBKS) by 60 runs and with this loss Punjab is out of the race of playoffs. 

Royal Challengers posted 241/7 in 20 overs and in reply Kings got 181/10 in 17 overs. 

In their first meeting of the season against each other, Bengaluru registered their first victory of the season with help of chasing master Virat’s half-century. 

After winning the toss, Punjab chooses to bowl first. 

Once again, Virat Kohli led from the front and scored a brilliant 92 runs. With this knock he completed the 600 runs milestone once again and is currently the only batter who crossed 600 mark in this season. He has registered 634 runs till now. In his 47 balls knock he hit 7 fours and 6 sixes with a strike rate of 195.74. 

He was well supported by Rajat Patidar who scored 55 runs in 23 balls. His strike rate was 239.13 and has 3 fours and 6 sixes to his name. Cameron Green showed his destruction for the first time in this season as he scored 46 runs in 27 balls. Due to his inning, the team gets close to 250. 

Harshal Patel after taking 3 wickets got the purple cap with 20 wickets in total till now to his name. Vidhwath Kaverappa played his maiden match in IPL and took 2 wickets. Arshdeep Singh and Sam Curran got 1 wicket each. 

In the chase, Jonny Bairstow continued his ruthless batting where he scored 27 runs in 16 balls but was unable to take that to much longer. Rilee Rossouw scored his first half-century of the season and scored 61 runs in 27 balls. He hit 9 fours and 3 sixes in his knock and had a strike rate of 225.93. 

Shashank Singh played well after scoring 37 runs in 19 balls but got run-out by a brilliant direct throw from Virat Kohli. 

Mohammad Siraj got 3 wickets while Lockie Ferguson, Karn Sharma and Swapnil Singh got 2 wickets each.
