New Zealand got their 1st victory in this ICC T20 World cup 2024 after crushing Uganda by 9 wickets in a one sided domination.
Earlier, Kiwis lost both their encounters due to which they were eliminated from the Super 8 round. Their last defeat came against West Indies where Caribbean’s got the upper hand in the low scoring match. While with this defeat Uganda ended their tournament, their last defeat came against West Indies where the Caribbean’s rampage performance uprooted Uganda fully.
Uganda scored 40/10 in 18.4 overs and this is also the 3rd lowest total in the T20 World Cup and in reply New Zealand chased down the target quite easily in 41/1 in 5.2 overs.

The decision looks very correct as only one player touched the double digit mark while four batters got out on a duck. Kenneth Waiswa scored the most runs for the team as he managed only 11 runs in 18 balls in which 2 boundaries were included.
Kiwi bowlers got the nerves of the batters very well and got them out cheaply. Tim Southee led the way for the team as he got 3 wickets by giving away only 4 runs in his 4 overs. He also got one maiden over in his spell. Trent Boult got 2 wickets in his 4 overs and conceded only 7 runs in his spell. He also got one maiden over.
Spinners Mitchell Santner and Rachin Ravindra both got 2 wickets each while Lockie Ferguson got 1 wicket to his credit.
Since the target was too below par score, the BlackCaps chased it down quite easily. Devon Conway scored unbeaten 22 runs in 15 balls and took his team to a great victory.
Riazat Ali Shah got the only wicket of the Kiwis.
