Namibia edges out Oman in the Super Over battle

Just in the 3rd match of the T20 World Cup, the match went to a Super Over where Namibia won the over and the match after defeating Oman.  

Oman scored 109/10 in 19.4 overs and Namibia in reply posted 109/6 in 20 overs.  

After winning the toss, Namibia chooses to bowl first. 

Oman had some partnerships issues due to which they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Khalid Kail was their top scorer with 34 runs and he took 39 balls to reach there, in which he hit one four and a six. Ex-skipper of the team Zeeshan Maqsood scored 2nd highest for the team and managed 22 runs in 20 balls. 

The bowlers were very particular with their line and length and made the batters uneasy to get easy runs. Ruben Trumpelmann has taken most wickets for the team and grabbed 4 wickets in his 4 overs by giving away only 21 runs. David Wiese, the experienced holder of the team, took 3 wickets whereas skipper Gerhard Erasmus got 2 wickets in his 4 overs by giving away 20 runs. Bernard Scholtz got 1 wicket. 

In the chase, the Namibian team despite chasing a low target got some issues in the middle as they were unable to score runs easily. Jan Frylinck topped the chart for the team with his 45 runs in 48 balls and hit 6 boundaries. Except him none of the other batters try to contribute much with the bat. 

Mehran Khan’s tight bowling spell gave them the opportunity to not get the par score. He took 3 wickets in his 3 overs by giving away only 7 runs. Bilal Khan, Aqib IIyas and Ayaan Khan got 1 wicket each. 

As a result, they were unable to get par the targeted score and the match went to the Super Over.  

In the Super Over, Namibia despite getting the low targeted score but in this they scored brilliant 21/0 runs and in reply Oman only managed 10/1 runs.
