Teams Analysis

Namibia (NAM):

So far the team is concerned, they played plenty of ICC tournaments but didn’t survive much longer due to the lack of experience of the players. This time they will be seen again in the T20 World Cup and this time they definitely want to change things.

Skipper Gerhard Erasmus will be seen leading the team in this tournament. He is one of the best all-rounders the team has and has been excellent in both the departments. With a strike rate of 122.95 he scored 1339 T20 runs in 55 innings. In this he scored one century and nine half-centuries. And with the bowl he has 43 wickets to his name, with a fantastic economy of 5.10. He has provided great support in the middle.

The opener of the team, Nicholas Davin, is well known for his destruction in this shortest format. He has managed 817 runs in 30 matches with a strike rate of 143.83, which includes 5 half-centuries. But in recent few matches he was seen little out of sight as he struggled to score runs. JP Kotze, has established himself a dependable batter in the number 3 position. He has been mostly seen consistent with the bat and has scored 695 runs with one century and one half-century. Though his strike rate is only 116.61, he contributed in most of the matches.

David Wiese, the most experienced player in the squad who earlier played for South Africa has achieved more success here after his brilliance in both the departments. He batted lower down the order so that he can finish off the things well for the team. He has scored 573 runs with a strike rate of 127.90. With the bowl he has taken 54 wickets and strikes in most of the matches.

Jan Frylinck has a great experience in this format. Earlier he played for South Africa under-19 and now he has been playing as a finisher. He has scored 620 runs and has one half-century to his name. Not only this he got one great hand with the bowl as he grabbed 63 wickets with an average of 17.95. The keeper of the team Zane Green, has not got much success with the bat as he is yet to score a 50+ knock with the bat. His best is 42 and has managed 402 runs in total.

The left arm pacer JJ Smit is a threat to the batters in the opening spell. In 47 matches he took 46 wickets. While with the bat, he is even more dangerous as his strike rate surges to 148.82 and has managed 826 runs in which 3 half-centuries were included. Bernard Scholtz is the experienced bowler in the squad. He is a slow left arm orthodox bowler and has taken 64 wickets with an economy of 6.06.

Probable Playing 11 for Namibia (NAM):

Gerhard Erasmus ©, Nicholas Davin, Michael Van Lingen, JP Kotze, David Wiese, Zane Green (wk), Jan Frylinck, JJ Smit, Bernard Scholtz, Ben Shikongo and Jack Brassell.

Oman (OMN):

This team has got few achievements in recent times due to which they were able to make their place into the T20 World Cup Group. They have been little consistent with the matches that they played but the only thing is that there are very few players who got international exposure, which might be a problem for them in the upcoming matches.

Aqib Ilyas, the brilliant all-rounder from the team will be leading the ICC tournament. He has been performing fantastic in both the departments and giving equal contributions there. He has scored 1176 runs in 48 matches and has 9 half-centuries scored. In his last five matches, he got past 50+ twice. With the bowl, he has been brilliant in the middle overs and grabbed 37 wickets till now, with an economy below 6 (5.92). Therefore the skipper is leading in both the departments very well.

Kashyap Prajapati has been scoring well for the team and has managed 812 runs in which 6 half-centuries were included. Though he has been a little inconsistent in the last few matches but still his experience will make it count for the team. Zeeshan Maqsood, one of the most experienced players in the squad has contributed well in both the departments. With the bat he got 1295 runs while with the bowl he got 48 wickets. He has one century and five half-centuries to his name and has a strike rate of 121.93.

Mohammad Nadeem, basically came to bat in lower down the order and do the role of a finisher. He has one half-century to his name and scored 483 runs. He also got some valuable wickets for the team with 30 wickets to his credit. Naseem Khushi, the keeper of the team has managed 680 runs till now in 37 innings. He generally came as an opener. He has three 50+ knocks to his name and has a strike rate of 159.25.

Mehran Khan, has provided some economical spells due to which his economy is close to 6.5 and has taken 25 wickets. Also he came lower down the order and has the capacity to add some valuable runs to the board. Ayaan Khan, is also a finisher of the team but has been little inconsistent with the bat in the last few matches. He scored 505 runs including one half-century.

Bilal Khan, is the consistent wicket-taker bowler of the team as he has grabbed 106 wickets under his credit with a brilliant economy of 6.68. He is an opening bowler of the team and provides wickets early on mostly. Fayyaz Butt, who already played for Pakistan under-19, is a regular wicket-taking option. But still he has to be more accurate with his line and length as he struggled in the last few matches. He has 45 wickets to his name.
