Match 7: ENG vs BAN| Match Analysis| Pitch Report| Best 11

The 7th Match of the tournament will be played between England (ENG) and Bangladesh (BAN).

England (ENG) Analysis:

Defending champion played the inaugural match against New Zealand and lost that match by a heavy margin of 9 wickets. They failed heavily in the bowling department. Ben Stokes missed that match but might join the team ahead of the upcoming match.

Looking at the batting point of view, there were some handy knocks. Jonny Bairstow started pretty well but was unable to convert his innings into a big one. Dawid Malan got out early but he is still going well with the bat this year. He will be eager to get some runs with the bat in this World Cup. Joe Root again showed his experience in the batting and played 77 runs for his team. Played some good shots and timing the ball well.

Harry Brook got a chance to play in place of Ben Stokes and he adopted an aggressive approach against the Kiwis, but this didn’t work well and just played 16 balls. Ben Stokes didn’t play the previous match but he might be seen in the match against the Bengal Tigers. He already scored the highest individual runs against an opponent from his side by breaking the record of Jason Roy.

Jos Butler started his innings well and hit the loose balls. He was going great in the middle overs and also adopted some destructive approach. But he was also unable to convert his innings into a big one. Moeen Ali and Liam Livngstone were not looking great in both of the departments. Both of them scored less and the bowling was also average. Both of them have the capacity to  score big by playing less balls especially Livingstone who is a nightmare to the bowlers in the death overs.

Sam Curran was the only bowler who took that single wicket against New Zealand. He is also good with the bat but he also didn’t bat well in the death overs. Chris Woakes also failed to show some sparks with his batting and bowling.

Mark Wood, main speedstar for the team who is having great pace was beaten badly in the 1st match with the stats of 55 runs in his 5 overs. He must be eagerly waiting to change those stats and convert them with some wickets. Adil Rashid too fails to deliver more with his bowling. He is the only leading spinner from the side and needs to be more accurate with his bowling line and lengths.

Gus Atkinson showed some great signs of bowling in the Ashes series and also against the New Zealand series which was played just before the World Cup. David Willey is also a great option in terms of left handed bowling.

Predicted 11 for the Match:

Jos Butler ©, Jonny Bairstow, Dawid Malan, Joe Root, Ben Stokes, Moeen Ali, Liam Livingstone, Sam Curran, Chris Woakes, Adil Rashid, Mark Wood.

Bangladesh (BAN) Analysis:

Bengal Tigers started their journey with a great victory over Afghanistan by 6 wickets. Mehidy Hasan Miraz was the showstopper for them in that match.

Miraz not only shone with the bowl but also with the bat. Earlier he grabbed 3 important wickets and later on he made a brilliant half century and scored 57 runs which eventually set a platform for the team to win that match. Tanzid Hasan and Liton Das didn’t get a solid start as expected. But Das has played some terrific knocks in the few recent series and is the highest scorer for the team from 2022.

Shakib Al Hasan the skipper of the team again showed his experience in bowling and took 3 wickets in their 1st match. Bowed brilliantly and turned the balls well. He can also bat well and play some match saving innings from his bat. Najmul Hossain Shanto also scored a half century in that match. He remains unbeaten at the end and shows his class of surviving.

Mushfiqur Rahim is having a great experience in international cricket and will be seen from behind the stumps wearing the gloves. Many times he played match winning innings and also played an important role in the middle overs during batting. Towhid Hridoy has shown his dependency in the middle overs and towards the end of the game. Mahmudullah has shown some valuable innings in the middle order batter and some valuable spells with the ball. He made his comeback but still to make his presence sound.

Taskin Ahmed during his opening spell was played easily by the Afghans bowlers and later on he made his comeback and got a wicket in the end. Shoriful Islam and Mustafizur Rahman also bowled brilliant spells with some maiden overs in their spell.

Predicted 11 for the Match:

Shakib Al Hasan ©, Tanzid Hasan, Liton Das, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah, Towhid Hridoy, Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, Mustafizur Rahman.

Pitch and Weather Report:

The match will be played at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association, Dharamshala. The pitch is always expected to be on the batter side with little assist to the pacers. It is expected that the captain winning the toss might opt to bowl.

The weather on the match day might remain cool throughout the day with little sunrise on day time. There is a 50% chance of raining during the match time but it might not harm the match overs.

Head to Head (ENG vs BAN) in World Cup:
