A do or die for both the team as the winner will advance to the Playoffs. But if rain damages the match, then with one point CSK will make it to the next round.

Both the teams met against each other in the first match of this season, where Chennai chased down the target quite easily by the brilliant effort from Mustafizur Rahman who restricted Bengaluru from a big score.

Teams Analysis:

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB):

A few days back it seemed that they would be the first team to be out of the Playoffs race but with back to back 5 match wins they showed that they are still in contention. Their batting was brilliant from the start of the season and only that was lacking was their bowling, but they overcame this and bowled some brilliant overs.

Virat Kohli without any doubt is taking the front charge with the  bat and is currently the only batter in this season who gets past 600 mark. With 661 runs he is wearing the orange cap and has one century and five half-centuries to his name. His average is 66.10 and has a strike rate of 155.16. In the last two matches, his strike rate was 200+ which will give a huge boost to the team in the starting overs.

Skipper Faf du Plessis has scored 367 runs in which 3 half-centuries were included. He is showing some good hard hitting in the past few matches and is striking with a strike rate of 168.35. After Will Jacks leaves the team for the upcoming series between England and Pakistan, now it will be a huge responsibility for Glenn Maxwell to step out for the team. Being known for his destructiveness, he failed to show his hard hitting this season as his strike rate is only 97.30 and has scored only 36 runs in 7 innings. But with the bowl, he has some advantage as he took 5 wickets with an economy of 8.67.

Rajat Patidar showed a huge dependability in the middle overs as he scored 320 runs in 11 innings with a strike rate of 179.78. In his 11 innings he scored 5 half-centuries till now and is mostly seen consistent with the bat. In his last two matches he scored back to back 50+ runs. On the other hand, Cameron Green played fantastically well in the last match in both departments and was awarded as the Player of the Match. Though he got better success in his bowling as compared to his batting. He has scored 190 runs and has taken 8 wickets till now.

Dinesh Karthik has shown huge impact in the death overs and as a result his strike rate is 194.19. He has scored 2 half-centuries in this season with a total run of 301.

Bowling was a little weak at the start of the season but they made a strong comeback in the last few matches. Yash Dayal is the leading wicket taker from the team with 13 wickets to his name with an economy of 8.8. Earlier his economy was above 9, but he improved his line and length which resulted in better performance.

Mohammad Siraj is next to him with 12 wickets in 12 innings with an economy of 9.3.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK):

At the start of the season it was looking like an easy qualification for the team but in the last few matches they lost some matches due to which the scenario is now to win this one. In the absence of their frontline bowlers it was a little difficult for the remaining bowlers to perform well.

Skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad is leading from the front in the batting with 583 runs and is in 2nd place in the orange cap list. He has scored one century and four half-centuries with an average of 58.30. He is a consistent performer and scores in most of the matches. At the start of the season he struggled a little but after scoring a brilliant half-century against KKR he looked in great rhythm.

Rachin Ravindra at the start batted aggressively but as the matches went by he was struggling with the bat. He is yet to score a half-century and the best was against GT where he scored 46 runs. Daryl Mitchell has been seen in good touch in the last couple of matches. With 2 half-centuries he has managed 314 runs.

Shivam Dube in the last few matches was struggling with the bat due to which he only managed 389 runs with a strike rate of 169.87. He is a great hitter of the ball and has the capacity to shift the momentum in his favour. In this crucial situation he needs to once again prove himself. Moeen Ali has also shown some good hands in both departments. He has managed 128 runs with the bat and has taken 2 wickets.

Ravindra Jadeja has played decently in this season as he scored 225 runs with bat in which one half-century was included and with the bowl he has taken 8 wickets with an economy of 7.48. With a strike rate of 226.67, MS Dhoni has scored 136 runs till now. His valuable contribution towards the end, mostly makes the difference.

Tushar Deshpande is their leading wicket-taker with 16 wickets to his name in 12 matches. He is mostly consistent with the bowl but slightly expensive in the death overs due to which his economy touches 8.52. Simarjeet Singh bowled brilliantly in the last match and took 3 wickets, as a result he was awarded the Player of the Match.
