The 67th match of the tournament between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). The match between them will start at 7:30 P.M. (IST).
The last time they met in this season was comparatively a low scoring match as in this season many 200’s were seen. In that match Marcus Stoinis all-round show guided Lucknow to a close win and a great bowling performance was seen from both the teams.
Teams Analysis:
Mumbai Indians (MI):
They were the first to get eliminated from the Playoffs race. They are currently at the bottom of the points table with 8 points in 13 matches. This will be their last match and they definitely wanted to end that on a good note. They are the only team who is yet to touch the double digit points in the points table. Throughout this season except Bumrah, Suryakumar, Tilak and little bit Rohit none of the other players show determination in the field. Due to lack of team combination they are on the bottom of the chart.
Rohit Sharma at the start of the season looked a little confident with the bat as he got a couple of good knocks. Among those he got a brilliant century against CSK. But in his last 7 innings he has a strike rate of 104 which is generally a worry for the team. But he carries a huge experience and might be seen destroying the rope in the last match. Ishan Kishan on the other hand only managed 306 runs with a strike rate of 153. He only got one half-century to his name and that came against RCB.
Tilak Varma has shown some consistency with the bat and has scored most runs for the team. He has in total 416 runs this season till now, in which 3 half-centuries were included. He has a strike rate of 149.64. Suryakumar Yadav on the other hand with a strike rate of 169.95 has 345 runs in which he has hit one century and three half-centuries. He is performing constantly with the bat.
Skipper Hardik Pandya has played miserably this season with the bat as he got only 200 runs in 12 innings. He didn’t get any 50+ knocks yet and the best was 46 runs which came against DC. With the bowl he had little decent stats as he got 11 wickets. Tim David, the hard hitter of the team, 241 runs with the bat. He is also not consistent with the power hitting in the death overs.
Jasprit Bumrah is the leading wicket-taker of the team with 20 wickets to his name. He is providing some lethal deliveries due to which his economy is 6.48 and batters find him difficult in most of the matches. He is mostly seen consistent with his line and length. Gerald Coetzee has 13 wickets to his name in 10 innings with an economy of 10.18.
The remaining bowlers didn’t provide any valuable contribution to the team. Piyush Chawla has 10 wickets to his name with an economy of 9.13.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG):
Till the mid of the season, they were moving towards an easy qualification but after the mid season it became a little tough and they now have very little chance to make their place into the playoffs. The main issue arose when Mayank Yadav ruled out from the tournament as he was frontline bowler of the team this season. Their bowling is their main weakness due to which they are standing at the 7th place with 12 points in 13 matches.
Skipper KL Rahul is leading the team in runs department with 465 runs in 13 matches with a strike rate of 136.36. He has 3 fifties to his name and the best came against CSK where he scored 82 runs. He didn’t get much support from the others in the opening as Quinton de Kock lacked the runs in the 2nd half of the season. De Kock has only 250 runs in 11 innings and has three half-centuries to his name.
Marcus Stoinis provided the team with valuable runs and wickets in both the departments. With 360 runs he got 1 century and 2 half centuries while in his bowling he has 4 wickets to his name. Nicholas Pooran has shown huge dependability to the team in the death overs as he scored 424 runs with an average of 60.57. He scored two 50+ knocks till now.
Ayush Badoni has scored 213 runs including 2 half-centuries while Deepak Hooda scored 134 runs in 8 innings. Krunal Pandya has not been much consistent with the bat but with the bowl he has taken 5 wickets with an economy of 7.79.
Naveen-ul-Haq is leading the team with 12 wickets to his name and his economy close to 10 (9.91). He played in 9 matches and has an average of 26.83. Ravid Bishnoi has taken 8 wickets with an economy of 8.72.
