Teams Analysis
India (IND):
They started their journey with a huge bang. In both the departments they were excellent, especially their bowling which was looking much more balanced and in perfect line and length. Now for the much awaited encounter, the whole team again has to show their full domination.
Starting with skipper Rohit Sharma, he played with all of his heart and got aggressive from the beginning. He scored 52 runs in just 37 balls and hit 4 fours and 3 sixes there. As he looked destructive with his batting, he got injured and had to move out from the ground. But again he will be back in action in the much awaited match.
Virat Kohli departed early after scoring only 1 run in 5 balls, but he is still a threat to the men in green. In the last T20 encounter between these two teams in 2022, due to Kohli’s unbeaten knock of 82 runs got a jaw-dropping victory against them. So again he might create some big problems for the team.
Rishabh Pant who played his first international match after more than one and a half years due to the injury, made a sound entry with unbeaten knock of 36 runs in just 26 balls. He is known for his aggressive gameplay and that he showed there already. Hardik Pandya who struggled to perform in the IPL was under the radar of huge pressure and he played brilliantly in the first match after 3 wickets in his 4 overs by giving away 27 runs. He also got a maiden over in his spell. Also he is well known for finishing the things for the team and a highly aggressive player in the death overs.
Suryakumar Yadav, despite being unable to score in the first match has always been a threat to any team, since he knows how to get big scores without playing many balls. Therefore he also might be a big threat to the Pakistan bowlers.
Arshdeep Singh with his variable bounce and speed in the first half of his spell, troubled the Irish batters badly as they weren’t able to judge his bowl well, due to which he got 2 wickets at the start of the innings. Jasprit Bumrah as usual showing consistency with the bowl and with a dangerous spell of 3 overs 6 runs and 2 wickets, he was judged as the Player of the Match. He is that kind of bowler that when he came to bowl batters got a high threat under pressure.
Probable Playing 11 of India (IND):
Rohit Sharma ©, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant (wk), Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Siraj, Arshdeep Singh.
Pakistan (PAK):
Despite having a huge unit of a world class bowling line-up, they failed to defend their total against an underdog team. The top batting order also failed to score runs with the bat. They looked under more pressure than the inexperienced team as a result the match went to the Super Over. In the Super Over also they choked so much that they eventually got a severe setback in their first match.
Mohammad Rizwan who is currently their best batter in this format only managed 9 runs in 8 balls. He looked uncomfortable from the start of the match and due to which he didn’t manage much score with the bat. Babar Azam, the leader of the team, scored 44 runs but for that he took 43 balls and had a strike rate of 102.33. At the start he looked under pressure that his strike rate was close to 20. After spending some time he looked a little solid but couldn’t take much longer in his inning.
It was Shadab Khan whose destructive knock took Pakistan to a comfortable position in the scoreboard. He scored 40 runs in just 25 balls. But when he came to bowl, he didn’t create any pressure and as a result he conceded 27 runs in 3 overs. Finishers Azam Khan and Iftikhar Ahmed failed to impress in the death overs.
Their experienced pacers Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf conceded many runs in their respective spells. Afridi was beaten harshly at the start of his spell but he made a little comeback in the death overs. Rauf on the other hand gave 37 runs in his spell.
Mohammad Amir who bowled brilliantly in the match as he conceded 25 runs in his 4 overs but in the Super Over he choked so much with his line and length due to which he conceded 18 runs.
Probable Playing 11 of Pakistan (PAK):
Babar Azam ©, Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Usman Khan, Fakhar Zaman, Shadab Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Azam Khan, Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Amir, Naseem Shah.
Pitch Report for the match between India (IND) and Pakistan (PAK):
The match will be played at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York. The pitch has seen inconsistent bounce and speed and was already declared by ICC that this has not been up to the international standards. But the work in this pitch is going on due to which in the last match between Canada and Ireland was seen little better. Still chasing might be a better option here as the bounce in first innings is little higher than the second.
Weather Report:
The weather might be a little cloudy as there is an expectation of 20% of rain, but still the full match might be played. Humidity will be little above 50%. The highest temperature may be recorded as 26 degree celsius while the lowest may be around 17 degree celsius.
