India makes the sky more blue than England

India continues their winning streak in this tournament and this time they beat England after 20 years by 100 runs. First time in this tournament they defended the total and did it successfully.

In a bowling dominating day, India posted 229/9 in 50 overs and in reply English players only managed 129/10 in 34.5 overs.

England skipper Jos Butler after winning the toss opted for bowling.

Rohit Sharma (87 runs) the skipper leading from the front and showing full domination here. He started in his normal destructive way but as the wicket started to fall from the other side he changed his gear to little defensive and played sensibly according to the situation. He hit 10 fours and 3 sixes in his innings.

KL Rahul (39 runs) supported the skipper and both of them made a crucial partnership of 91 runs for the 4th wicket. In the end Suryakumar Yadav (49 runs) played some fantastic shots all around the ground and helped India to get 229 runs in 50 overs. Jasprit Bumrah (16 runs) also played well in the end. They lost 9 wickets in the end.

English bowlers might feel some relief as they were expensive most of the time in this World Cup. In this match they bowled brilliantly. David Willey marked his presence with 3 important wickets while Chris Woakes and Adil Rashid got 2 wickets each. Mark Wood Settled with 1 wicket.

England during the chase started in a destructive way as they put 30 runs in 5 overs. But this didn’t lead much longer as they lost wickets after that and no big partnerships were built. Wickets were falling at regular intervals. Liam Livingstone (27 runs) was the highest run scorer from his team. Rest players were unable to handle the bowling and as a result all players got submitted at 129 runs in 34.5 overs.

Bowlers did a fantastic job by restructuring the long batting line up of the English team to a below par score. Mohammad Shami showed his experience again and grabbed 4 wickets. Jasprit Bumrah has maintained his consistency in this tournament and has picked 3 wickets. While the spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja got 2 & 1 wickets respectively.
