India closes in on semi-final berth

India got a ravishing victory after defeating Bangladesh by 50 runs. With this victory men in blue are inches close to the next round.  

India scored 196/5 in 20 overs and in reply Bangladesh scored 146/8 in 20 overs. With this loss, the Bengal Tigers are out of the race of Semi Final. 

Men in blue in their first encounter of the Super 8 showed a dominating victory against Afghanistan while Bengal Tigers got a rampage defeat against Australia in a rain disturbing match. 

After winning the toss, Nazmul Hossain Shanto opted to bowl first. 

A fire power showed by Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the opening. Rohit scored 23 in 11 balls while Kohli looked solid today and scored 37 runs in 28 balls. Pant also contributed well as he struck 36 runs in 24 balls. 

Then a solid partnership of 53 runs were generated for the 5th wicket between Shivam Dube and Hardik Pandya. Dube scored 34 runs in 24 balls whereas Pandya showed his destructive side and scored a rocket fire 50 runs in 27 balls. He got not out till the end and hit 4 fours and 3 sixes and had a strike rate of 185.19.  

Rishad Hossain and Tanzim Hasan Sakib got 2 wickets while Shakib Al Hasan got 1 wicket. 

In the chase, skipper Shanto scored most runs for the team after he scored 40 runs in 32 balls in which one four and three sixes were included. But he didn’t get any proper support from the other end. 

Rishad Hossain tried to lower the gap with his destructive knock of 24 runs in 10 balls, but didn’t get his innings much longer. 

Kuldeep Yadav showed his power of wrist spin and grabbed 3 wickets in his 4 overs spell by giving away only 19 runs. Jasprit Bumrah continued his consistency and in his 4 overs he conceded only 13 runs and got 2 wickets. Arshdeep Singh also got 2 wickets while Pandya got 1 wicket.
