India advances to the semi-final of the Asian Games

Due to rain India Women advances to the semi final of the Asian Games. The match between India and Malaysia wasn’t completed due to the rain. 

India Women scored 173/2 in 15 overs and in reply Malaysian Women only faced two balls and suddenly the rain started and never stopped. 

After winning the toss, Malaysia Women opted to bowl first. 

Indian women were looking solid from the beginning as skipper Smriti Mandhana (27 runs) and Shafali Verma (67 runs) put 57 runs for the first wicket. Shafali was looking highly brutal with her gameplay. She hit 4 fours and 5 sixes in her innings.

Jemimah Rodrigues (47 runs) and keeper batter Richa Ghosh (21 runs) showed heavy destruction in the end. At the end India put up a huge score of 173 in 20 overs by losing only 2 wickets.

Mahirah Izzati Ismail and Mas Elysa took 1 wicket each. 

During the Malaysian team’s batting only two balls were delivered and then the rain started heavily and it didn’t stop later on. Unfortunately at the end it has been called off. 

Due to higher run rate India was moved into the semi final of the Asian Games.
