Equations for the final day will need 174 runs more runs for Australia and 7 wickets needed by England to win 1st Test of Ashes 2023.
England started with their day 3 score 28/2 and made 273/10 at the end of the innings. Ollie Pope was the first one who got out by a brilliant inswinger of Pat Cummins. After his departure Root, Brook and Stokes made 40+ runs but they were not able to convert them into a big innings. Root and Brook both scored 46 runs and Stokes made 43 runs. Robinson at the end tried to put some runs on the board but couldnt contribute much. And as a result the whole team settles down at 273 runs.
Lyon again strikes with 4 wickets to his credit and from that it reaches 8 wickets in 1st Test. He got a great help from the captain. Pat Cummins took 4 wickets and helped his team to get opposition out quickly. Boland and Hazelwood took 1 wicket each.
Australia got a good start and reached 61 when they lost their first wicket. Warner was the one who departed after scoring 36 runs. Robinson took him off. Labuschagne and Smith both departed before the end of the day. Broad took the wickets of both of them. Labuschagne scored 13 runs while Smith only contributed 6 runs. Boland, the night watchman, helps his team to prevent further damage. He made 13 runs and Khawaja is still in the crease and contributed 34 runs till now.
Rain might once again be the hurdle for the win on day 5.
