As Pakistan is out of the Asia Cup final, this led to some heated arguments between Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi.
In the post match presentation where Babar was highly disappointed with the bowling effort and he directly blamed the bowlers and fielders for the match loss. According to some reports, this infuriates Shaheen Afridi as he told his skipper in the dressing room to at least appreciate those who bowled and batted well. And in response to this, the skipper replied that he knows who is performing and who is not. Then the keeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan has to intervene in between them to stop the fight between them.
Pakistan meet Sri Lanka on 14th September where the winner from the match will be moved forward to the final along with India. Unfortunately Pakistan lost the match in the last ball and Sri Lanka reached the final of the Asia Cup.
At one point of time Sri Lanka was moving easily to a comfortable win but Iftikhar’s 3 wickets changed the momentum and somehow it shifted to the visitors. But then some sloppy fielding in the ground took the match away from them.
In the history of Asia Cup, Pakistan and India never played a final against each other and this time from the starting it was highly suggested that the final match will be played by them. But this didn’t happen and we have to wait until 2025.
