Gill and Jaiswal record breaking partnership helps India to win the 4th T20

India won the 4th T20 by showing one sided domination with the help of Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal. West Indies made 178 /8 in 20 overs which India chased down easily with three overs left by 9 wickets. India made 179/1 in 17 overs.

India won the previous match and with this win now the series gets level by 2-2 and the last T20 will be the deciding one.

West Indies after winning the toss opted to bat first. Caribbeans got a destructive start by Mayers but Arshdeep dismissed him in his first over. Samson took a sharp catch. Mayers made 17 runs. (19-1). Then again Arshdeep strikes in his next over and this time he gets the wicket of Brandon King. King departed after making 18 runs. (54-2).

Then India gets the big wicket of Pooran. Kuldeep uses his googly to get him. It’s a big relief for the Indian team so they get Pooran cheaply. Pooran made only 1 run. (55-3). In that same over, Kuldeep again strikes by dismissing the Caribbean Captain. His googly again did the work and got the wicket of Powell. Powell also scored 1 run only. (57-4).

After that Hope and Hetmyer put together 49 runs for the 5th wicket. And Hope was looking in this short format. He scored 45 runs in 29 balls including 3 fours and 2 sixes. Chahal gets him and a bit of relief for him as he was going with heavy runs in his spell, this might probably help him. (106-5). Shepherd was the next man dismissed and Axar got him. Just that ball before Shepherd hits a six and tries that same shot again but he missed it and Samson caught that. (118-6)

In the next over, and Mukesh Kumar’s first he got the wicket of Holder. Holder was a little unlucky as the ball kissed his pad and went to the stumps. Holder scored only 3 runs. (123-7). Hetmyer before this tries to keep himself calm but after that he shows his destructiveness and hits his 4th fifty in a T20 international. He was just hitting all around the ground. He was dismissed in the last over by Arshdeep. Hetmyer scored 61 runs in 39 deliveries which includes 3 fours and 4 sixes. (167-8)

With the help of Hetmyer innings West Indies were able to get par 150 runs, otherwise at one point it was looking hard to get above that score. West Indies finally scored 178 runs with the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. Odeon Smith and Akeal Hosein remain not out at the end. Smith scored 15 runs and Hosein scored 5 runs.

Arshdeep in his 1st match in this T20 series gets 3 important wickets. Kuldeep Yadav gets 2 wickets. Chahal, Axar and Mukesh Kumar get 1 wicket each.

Indian openers just make the chase so easy. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill joined the highest opening partnership along with KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma. These two youngsters show great talent i.e. 165 runs. Gill and Jaiswal from the very start of the game show some blast in almost every over. Gill was the only man who went out. He played a superb innings of 77 runs in 47 balls which includes 3 fours and 5 sixes. Shepherd gets the only wicket for the team. (165-1).

Also he remained not out at the end along with Tilak Varma who scored 7 runs. Therefore India chased down the target in 17 overs and won the match by 9 wickets.

Yashasvi Jaiswal Awarded the Player of the Match

“It’s not easy. I am happy to go out there and perform. I try to score quickly and how many shots I can play in the powerplay. Reading the wicket, reading the situation, everything is important. I have played a lot of ball against Holder and McCoy. It helped me to pick them. Partnership with Gill was really amazing. He batted really well. I want to thank everyone for coming here and supporting us. Thank You so much.”
