FIRST WPL CHAMPION 2023: MIW
The Mumbai Indians women claims the inaugural title of women`s ipl 2023 by defeating the first finalist team Delhi capitals women by 7 wickets.
Delhi capitals were 79/9 in 16 overs but the last wicket 52 runs partnership between Radha Yadav and Shikha Pandey stands DCW to a fighting total of 131. MIW chased down the total with the loss of 3 wickets while 3 balls were spared. Nat Sciver-Brunt`s 60 runs helped Mumbai to get the trophy.

MUMBAI INDIANS JOURNEY IN 2023 WIPL:
MIW started their journey with a blastful win over GG by a margin of 143 runs. They won back to back 5 matches which was ended by UPW. They were 2nd in the points table equally DC points but having little less net run rate as compared to DC. In the eliminator they eliminated UPW by 72 runs and got the ticket to the final.
MIW dominated in the bowling department acquiring 4 spots among the top 5 wicket takers in the tournament. Hayley Matthews (16 wickets), Issy Wong (15 wickets), Amelia Kerr (15 wickets) and Saika Ishaque (15 wickets) standing 1st, 3rd, 4th & 5th position respectively in top wicket takers.
Not only this they dominated in the batting department and also secured 3 spots among the top 5 batters in the tournament. Starting with Nat Sciver-Brunt (332 runs), Harmanpreet kaur (281 runs) and Hayley Matthews (271 runs) standing 2nd, 4th and 5th position respectively.
DELHI CAPITALS JOURNEY IN 2023 WIPL:
DCW started their campaign by registering the highest score (223 runs) in WPL 2023 against one of the favorite team RCW. They were the first team to qualify for the final of WPL. Meg Lanning led the team from the front and always gave a strong start to their team. Lanning was the highest run scorer (345 runs) in WPL 2023 and got the purple cap for the inaugural tournament. Shikha Pandey was the leading wicket taker (10 wickets) from DCW.
