Delhi Capitals (DC) again performed their top notch performance in both the departments. They defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) by 29 runs.
It was Capitals 4th win in a row and now they are the only team with 8 points in this WPL. Delhi and Mumbai met in the season opener match where Mumbai showed their brilliance and won the match by 4 wickets. This time the Capitals didn’t make any mistakes and easily climbed up the ladder.
Indians skipper Harmanpreet Kaur is back and won the toss and she goes for bowling.
Meg Lanning (53 runs) again hit back to back half- century. She along with Shafali Verma (28 runs) provided a destructive start where they put 48 runs in just under 5 overs.
The star of the match, Jemimah Rodrigues (66 runs not out) got her nerves back as she was unable to score many runs in the previous matches. She hit 8 fours and 3 sixes in just 33 runs. Due to her aggressive approach, the team managed 192 runs in 20 overs by losing 4 wickets.
Saika Ishaque, Shabnim Ismail, Pooja Vastrakar and Hayley Matthews got 1 wicket each.
During the chase, the top order failed miserably due to which half of the team went back to pavilion in just 68 runs. Amanjot Kaur (42 runs) showed some bravery against the bowlers and hit 7 boundaries.
At the end, Mumbai scored 163 runs in 20 overs by losing 8 wickets.
Jess Jonassen claimed the most wickets for her team by taking 3 wickets. Now the purple cap goes to Marizanne Kapp as she grabbed 2 wickets and came to the top in the list of bowlers. Shikha Pandey, Radha Yadav and Titas Sadhu got 1 wicket each.
