Babar Azam focuses all the team equally, not especially on India regarding the 2023 World Cup.

Babar Azam recently said that he isn’t only focusing on one team, the remaining nine teams are also equally important to reach the final of the World Cup. As the World Cup is coming closer many people and fans are eagerly waiting for the high voltage match between Ind-Pak.

Pakistan will meet India at Ahmedabad on 15th October. India vs Pakistan match happened last year during the T20 World Cup, where India wins the thrilling encounter in the last ball and Kohli becomes the match saver for India.

Babar Azam said about the encounter with India and other teams

“We are going to play the World Cup and not just going to play India only. There are eight other teams and it’s not only India and only if we beat them then we will make it into the final. We are not focused only on one team, we are focused on all other teams in the tournament. Our plan is that we have to play well against all of them and win against them.”

About the conditions that they had to play in different cities he said,

“You prepare yourself for different conditions and in every environment and that is what we call a challenge and you take it to live up to it. As a player and captain, I aspire to score runs in every country, dominate and win every Pakistan game. So this is all we have in mind and not only that we are going to play against one team.”

On not being qualify for the WTC and preparation the upcoming WTC, he told,

“When you reflect back on the Championship, you look out for all the positives and mainly that we are lacking in. We did look back and plucked a few points. We will try to start this cycle in a positive way and up our game by 5-10 percent. We talked about taking our partnerships longer and with the ball, we have to take wickets. With the bat, if we were going with 3.5 run rate, now we have to change our game to try and go with four.”

About their new coach Mickey Arthur and their upcoming Sri Lanka series, he added,

“Pakistan team will benefit from the input of Mickey Arthur as he was Sri Lanka’s head coach for a couple of years. He will have the knowledge of the conditions in Sri Lanka and his experience with the side will further help us prepare for the upcoming series.”
