Teams Analysis

Afghanistan (AFG):

They performed brilliantly in the starting three matches and showed their dominance, but in the last two matches the domination was missing from their gameplay. Despite this their bowling is consistent and performing well but their batting has been little down. To maintain their chances into the Semis, they need to win this match.

The wicket-keeper batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz is currently their leading run scorer with 178 runs to his credit. But out of this, 156 runs were scored in the starting two matches, from there he scored 11, 0 & 11 runs in the next three matches. He needs to be a little more consistent with the bat at the start, so that the team can score big.

After that, Ibrahim Zadran came to the party as he managed 160 runs in 5 matches. His strike rate is 120.30 and has got one half-century to his name that came against Uganda where he scored 70 runs. His performance is not consistent which goes up and down, but he needs to stick to the pitch for a little more time. Gulbadin Naib the all-rounder of the team has managed 77 runs with the bat while with the bowl he got 2 wickets. His performance has been decent but not that great till now.

In the bowling unit, Fazalhaq Farooqi has been the leading wicket-taker of this season till now as he grabbed 15 wickets till now. His economy is just above 6 (6.16). He is performing consistently and provides wickets from the start.

Skipper Rashid Khan has taken 9 wickets till now and has been in almost regular touch with the bowl. His economy is 6.25 and he has mostly been dangerous in the middle overs. He has been a great performer for the team since a long time and this consistency is needed by the team in the upcoming matches. Naveen-ul-Haq has taken 6 wickets till now and has an economy of 6.25.

They are proving themselves to be the beast in this format as they are undefeated in this World Cup till now. A complete performance has been seen by them till now. Both the departments have been working according to the situation and the result came into their favour.

With the bat he got 156 runs in which two half-centuries were included and has a strike rate of 190.24 while with the bowl he got 7 wickets till now with an economy of 6.91. Skipper Mitchell Marsh is facing little difficulty in his batting as he scored only 76 runs in 5 matches. His strike rate is just 108.57.

Pitch Report for the match between Afghanistan (AFG) and Australia (AUS):

The match will be played at Arnos Vale Ground, Kingstown, St Vincent. 62m and 68m boundaries to the side, with longer straight boundaries. This venue has produced the most turns in this World Cup. There is a bit of patchiness across the surface. Spin it to win it. Batting first might be a great option here after winning the toss and the rest spin might be a factor here.
